The St Patrick's Day Parade in Dundalk is an annual event that brings together thousands of participants in the heart of Dundalk. The voluntary committee behind the parade are delighted to bring all the fun, colour, music and celebration of culture back to the streets once more in 2024.
Join us to see hundreds parade participants, including the Defence Forces, firefighters and their vehicles, Garda members, dance groups, musicians, sports teams and local clubs, voluntary and community groups.
The theme for this year's parade will be ‘Green Dream’, and we hope participants will display their creativity, imagination, laughter and joy which help bring people together.
The St Patrick’s Day parade in Dundalk would not be possible without the generous support of businesses. Thank you to Dundalk Credit Union, Digiweb, Louth County Council, WuXi Biologics, Stage & Lighting and Lockup for your immense contribution to the wonderful community spirit that is brought to life at the Dundalk St Patrick’s Day Parade.
A new voluntary committee was formed in 2018 to ensure that events would continue be held to mark St Patrick’s Day in Dundalk. The committee comprises Cllr. Conor Keelan, Anne Campbell, Shane McBride (Pelican Promotions), Maria O’Toole (PayPal); Deputy Ruairí Ó Murchu, Cllr. Maeve Yore, Dagan Fleming and David Minto.
Over the years, the committee worked hard to ensure that St. Patrick’s Day was marked in Dundalk and were delighted with the support of the local community and local business.
While there were no parades during COVID, the 2023 event was a huge success! Preparations are already underway for the 2024 St. Patrick’s Day Festival and event organisers have been meeting over the last number of months to plan. There will be a parade on the day as well as musical entertainment at the Market Square as well as the ever-popular Pelican Family Fun Zone.
